ALER participates in a roundtable on sustainable mobility and energy transition
This week, ALER took part in a series of initiatives in Madrid focused on regulation, international cooperation and the energy transition.
On 13th May, Isabel Cancela de Abreu (ALER’s Executive Director) participated in the roundtable “Operationalising sustainable mobility: where are we and where are we heading?”, as part of the seminar Sustainable Mobility in the Energy Transition: From Regulation to Operation, held on the sidelines of the II Joint International Conference ARIAE–RELOP.
In her intervention, she highlighted the role of renewable energy in the sustainability of transport – not only through electrification, but also through the production of renewable fuels and the adoption of decentralised solutions – as well as the importance of ensuring that the new energy demand is met with clean and affordable energy.
ALER also participated in the technical meeting of the RELOP Energy Transition Working Group, where ongoing initiatives were shared and opportunities for future cooperation identified among regulatory authorities and sector institutions.
ALER’s presence at these events makes it possible to closely follow developments in the international regulatory framework, strengthening the link between regulation and on‑the‑ground implementation, and contributing to the creation of favourable conditions for the development of the energy sector in Portuguese‑speaking countries.
